Adult Halloween costumes are worn by many adults who are still in touch with their inner child. These are people who don’t mind joining in to celebrate Halloween with the rest of the kids. The question arises for every adult at Halloween: Do I dress up this year or not? If the answer is yes, you’ll find that there are many adult Halloween costumes to choose from. Your first stop, however, will be in determining whether or not you’ve got the nerve to put your costume on along-side all the children.

The company you keep might help you decide this all-important, yearly question. Do you have a regular tradition of picking out an outfit with your best bud to wear at their Halloween get together? If so the answer is easy.

It’s probably best to think about where you will be wearing your Halloween costume. Will it require a wig or maybe even a cape. There are trendy adult Halloween costumes and there are also costumes that are much more homemade. If you’ve got a trick-or-treating date, or a big party to attend, why not get dressed on day when it won’t seem weird?

It is worth pointing out, however, that your job may not be the best place to wear certain adult Halloween costumes. You know your profession better than anyone else – will your costume be appropriate in an office setting? If the answer is yes, you still may want to find a costume that won’t expose too much or attract the type of attention that takes away distract from work. Women’s costumes are most often in jeopardy of this, but men’s costumes should also be toned down when necessary as well.

Guys will still have to watch out for any inappropriate messages their costume may convey. A mens costume that features off color language or a racy joke should probably be left at home or saved for a friend’s Halloween party.

If you work in a cubicle at work, it may be a good idea to keep your adult Halloween costumes as small and non-cumbersome as possible. You don’t even have to put on the whole costume; a portion can do the job until you get off work and are ready to wear the rest. A headband with ‘bunny’ or ‘mouse’ ears could be all the adult Halloween costumes you’ll need.

This same principal can be applied to Halloween parties. If you must, ask your host or hostess who will be in attendance. Even if the gathering was purely adults in previous years. You never know when someone may bring along little Johnny or Susie this year because no sitter was available.

Did you enjoy feeling like a complete fool last year when you showed up at the get together in a gaudy clown suit, to find that no one else dressed up for the occasion? Remember, it never hurts to ask ahead of time if anyone else will be celebrating with a costume. It could save you a bit of embarrassment, unless of course, you have no concern for the opinions of others. In which case, more power to you!

Keep in mind that dressing up in any of the vast choices of adult Halloween costumes can be just as exciting for grownups as well as kids. Just remember to choose your adult Halloween costumes with your own personality in mind; also, it is critical for men and women to make sure that their outfits are appropriate for the occasion. It is only necessary to follow a few guidelines to ensure that you avoid any social mishaps this Halloween season. Edited by Glinda Zuladra

Adult Halloween costumes are worn by many adults who are still in touch with their inner child. These are people who don?t mind joining in to celebrate Halloween with the rest of the kids. The question arises for every adult at Halloween: Do I dress up this year or not? If the answer is yes, you’ll find that there are many adult Halloween costumes to choose from. Your first stop, however, will be in determining whether or not you’ve got the nerve to put your costume on along-side all the children.

If you have decided to choose from a selection of Adult Halloween costumes to don this year, it might not be a bad idea to bring a friend along. Why not get your best friend involved, or possibly a mate, and get your Halloween costumes together this year?

Where will you be seen in your costume, and how many times will you have to wear your tights and wig around Halloween? Some people dress up every chance they get, wearing the latest trendy adult Halloween costumes to work, school, and holiday parties. If you have plenty of places to don your once a year look, then by all means, dive right in.

Now you might not want to wear your adult Halloween costumes to work if the environment is extremely professional. To be on the safe side, check to see if it’s okay before wearing anything outrageous when Halloween comes. If it turns out you can wear your costume to work, remember it is still your job. This means that the women?s costumes shouldn’t show their breasts, this isn’t appropriate office wear. And while it?s not as much of a problem, men should use discretion as well.

That’s right, it’s not just the women, the men’s costumes can sometimes be too risque for the corporate environment. As a rule of thumb, if you’re a man who thinks your adult Halloween costumes could cause controversy, you may want to save it for another event.

One other consideration to be made is to consider whether or not the outfits you’re thinking of wearing are too cumbersome for your particular work environment. Nothing would be worse than seeing adult Halloween costumes consuming a whole row of cubicles leaving no room for work. For a smaller workspace it may just be better to wear an abbreviated version of the costume until later.

These are also considerations to be made when attending Halloween parties as well. Check with your host to determine what type of guests will be at the party. What adult wants to be caught wearing adult Halloween costumes that are inappropriate for children who ended up being at the party – not you!

Take steps to make sure this isn’t another year where you choose to wear some obtrusive clown suit to a party where no one else has bothered to change out of street clothes. Adult Halloween costumes are better when worn to an actual costume party. To avoid any of this, call ahead with questions if you have to; or you could just do your thing without a worry for what another may think!

Adult Halloween costumes can be just as much fun as any children costumes. Choose something that fits your personality, yet is appropriate for who will see you. Following a few simple tips can help streamline your holiday and prevent you from falling into any social Halloween traps. Have fun with adult Halloween costumes, but do so responsibly. Do you remember the story of a boy in Persia who always steals food just to feed himself and his monkey friend that until one day, he met someone so lovely that he really fell in love with her? But because, he’s just a common thief, he can’t do anything except to let that dream stay as just a dream for all eternity until one day, someone changed his life with 3 wishes? That’s right, it’s Aladdin and what do you want to call him? Al or Din or just plain Aladdin?

Halloween is never intended for a specific age group. It is for everyone to enjoy. Why, even Mom and Dad can burst out as some sort of weird creatures coming from outer space or sexy big sister can be the prettiest and sexiest Snow White in the entire kingdom.

But Halloween today is not about being scary anymore and there are lots of costumes to choose from, online and offline. How about cartoon characters? Surely, you don’t say that you can’t remember Snow White or the 7 Dwarfs or even Cinderella? Why, their costumes can be fabulous head-turners during the spooky night of Halloween.

There are many ways to make your own Snow White costume. You just need a simple gown and decorate it up just like what the real Snow White were wearing in the animated movie. This is a great idea especially when you are too tight in the budget but would want to join the festivities. You would want to get some assistance from someone who is an expert in sewing and all that tailoring stuff to get the results you want in a Snow White costume.

Or you can be Van Helsing, the man responsible for hunting and killing of hundreds of vampires and werewolves and bringing Mr. Hyde to justice. If you want to be scarier, you can opt for a nasty imp or a poltergeist or a zombie who wants nothing but your neighbor’s fresh brains “straight from the can”.

All throughout the Information Highway, the best costumes are not only the spooky and scary ones but the most elegant and the most original as well. While others go for these types of costumes, some would like to be magical, wholesome and funny. That’s why; they go for cartoon characters costumes like Aladdin or even the dreaded evil Jaffar.

Or, you can choose to be one of the wrestling superstars that you adore. Take a look at these wrestling costumes from hell: the Ultimate Warrior, the Powers of Pain, Demolition, The Road Warriors (Legion of Doom), the Rockers, the Killer Bees. You can even become the Undertaker or his brother, the evil Kane. What about being a goth-metal guitarist or a shock-rock belter like Alice Cooper, KISS’ Gene Simmons or Nicki Sixx of Motley Crue? What about Twisted Sister? Heck, they are the craziest bunch of people but they can be good examples of rock star Halloween costumes.

Or if you are in a tight budget, you can still get some tips from different costume sites and maybe, the materials that you need to make your costume from a pirate costume, a fairy costume or an Aladdin Halloween costume can already be found right in your own home.

There are a lot of different stores that you can get adult vampire costumes. You can even buy them online for Halloween. I have found many costumes for sale at auctions online. I prefer to get costumes that have not been used, especially if they have undergarments with them.

Men can dress as vampires as well, it is just more common for a female to dress as one because I think people find it sexy. Women’s vampire costumes come in so many different designs that it is almost hard to choose the best one.

These kind of costumes are a little bit more elaborate because they can be a variety of different styles. I have seen some that have short dresses and some that have very long dresses. I personally thing the long ones that are thick would be very hot even if it was on a cold night, but I am very warm blooded.

I think when someone goes all out on a costume and makes it look good then it is more fun. I like to wear costumes that are easy to put together and do not require a lot of makeup because then I will be sweating all night and will probably end up getting the makeup in my eyes.

Of course if you are a male and want to dress as a female vampire then this is okay too and you will need the same thing that a female would need to dress as a vampire. You will want to make sure (no matter if you are a male or a female)that you also have blood and it should be the non staining kind in my opinion.

It does not matter what you dress up as or if you make your own costume, as long as it is something that you will stay warm or cool in. We all know how Halloween can be so different every year and it can be hot or cold. Make sure to check the weather on this nigh before you get your costume, to make sure that you are going to be comfortable.

No matter what you dress up as or what costume you put together yourself. Just make sure it is something comfortable because, chances are you are going to be in that costume all night long and it may not be the most comfortable thing to have on for several hours. And always make sure that you have a safe night no matter what you choose to wear or dress up as.

Much like Christmas morning, Halloween seems to be a holiday tailor made for kids to have fun. But that doesn’t mean their parents can’t get in on the action as well. In fact, as Halloween has grown in popularity over the years, it is becoming more and more an adult holiday. This usually means costume parties but after you’ve gotten over the initial amusement of seeing who everyone is dressed up as there are some adult Halloween party ideas that can keep the fun going into the wee hours.

The most obvious adult Halloween party idea is to have a costume contest. Let your guests know they’ll be competing for prizes such as most outrageous costume, funniest costume, best couple costume, etc. If you have the space, consider setting up a small stage in your backyard to give everyone the chance to see the costumes and vote by applause as to who should win.

Another great adult Halloween party idea is to create a scavenger hunt for your guests. This could mean coming up with a list of items that teams will need to collect over the course of the night. These could be things like carved pumpkins, toilet seats or bowling pins. Naturally you’ll want to entice everyone with prizes.

A variation on this adult Halloween party idea would be to have a scavenger hunt with photos. Since everyone’s cell phone can snap a picture you could give folks a list of photos that might include a picture with a barnyard animal, a picture with a cop, or a picture of a professional restaurant kitchen. The thing to keep in mind with scavenger hunts is to set a time limit. You don’t want folks out all night missing the party!

An additional adult Halloween party idea would be to take the party to a big Halloween parade. All of your guests could wear coordinated theme costumes that would unify them. You could then proudly march down the parade route and head back to the house for the rest of the night’s merriment.

Then there is the retro adult Halloween party idea that will surely make for a memorable night. This would be taking your guests out trick or treating. Technically there isn’t an age requirement for trick or treater so there is nothing wrong with a much of costumed and well behaved adults getting their fill of Halloween candy. No doubt everyone would have fun with that adult Halloween party idea!

People scramble year after year to have the most unique adult costume ideas. There’s something about having the most creative or funny Halloween costume that drives everyone bonkers. Great lengths are taken to make sure a mark will be made with one’s choice of costume.

There are many adult costume ideas in Halloween stores and websites, but many people end up making their own costumes. Some obvious choices include: a man dressed as a gorilla, a pregnant nun, a pirate, a gangster, a member of The Beatles, an astronaut, a bunny rabbit, etc.

Some common adult costume ideas stem from the idea of Halloween being an opportunity to be someone you’re not. Many people take this as being revealing or sexy in their costumes choices. This is usually more common with women than men. Some popular women’s costumes include: Snow White, Queen of Hearts, Cleopatra, a mermaid, a cowgirl, a devil, a nurse, a referee, a geisha, a cop, Alice in Wonderland, a witch, a pirate, a bumble bee, a school girl, a flapper, a Playboy bunny, a cat, a French maid and many more. There are definite sexual connotations among these costumes and for some reason; it has become an expected tradition in American culture.

It is also very common for adults to dress us as political figures on years when there is an election because Halloween is about one week before. During the 2008 election season, many people dressed up at Democratic presidential candidate Barrack Obama, Republican presidential candidate John McCain and vice-president Republican candidate Sarah Palin. This was because of the amount of attention the public had invested in all the coverage devoted to following these candidate’s every move. Because of Sarah Palin’s interesting background and story and because was introduced formally at the Republican national convention, many people had very strong opinions about her and decided to dress up like her for Halloween. Years before, during the scandal between President Clinton and Monica Lewinski, many people dressed up as them for Halloween.

Halloween is usually a time to laugh, dance and celebrate and many adult costume ideas reflect this. It is not a serious holiday and it is normally regarded as “anything goes”. Halloween costumes stores become extremely busy weeks before the holiday so make sure you pre-order or start shopping at the end of August. To save money, you can try renting costumes as well, but these get taken up quickly also.

It’s 2009 and if at all you haven’t looked closely, during the last few years, superheros are as huge, if not better, than ever. With the release of pictures such as Iron man, Batman and Spider man 3, it has been a massive trend amid the kids to clothe such as their superhero. There are many such crusaders that have acquired fame among the youngsters. Here’s a glance at the hottest heroes on the block:

The Batman Costume

The fame that Batman has is not new-found but the craze it carries, has reached newer heights by the release of Dark Knight, during the preceding year. Many youngsters are excited to get dressed like Batman and walk around asking for goodies from their neighbors at Halloween. Now, what one needs to think on is, how to have the flawless Batman outfit. A more high-priced Batman costume is possible to be huge and hard to move in, thus it’s suggested that you stick with more or less simple, fabric gear. You could obtain a Batman face cover at almost any attire market in the neighborhood, however they will vary in quality from minimal fine plastic to more substantial molded stuff. A cloak could easily be dug up out of your discarded pieces of cloth or rags.

Dress To Resemble Spider man

Driven by the truth that behind the cover up is a studious, often picked on teen named Peter Parker, children all over the world are attracted to the web slinging icon that is Spider man.

This is a sizzling franchise, essentially owing to the recent popularity of the animation TV series at Fox Kids. The sequence features Spider man as a character who has to assist the disadvantaged whilst dealing with the regular High School challenges like girls and bullies and this makes the Spider man all the more in style among the children.

The Spider man gear happens to be a complete body suit, consequently it is going to be simplest to opt for a pre-made costume for this one. It’s better to opt for a pre-made dress for Spider man in view of the fact that its complex to create a single piece body outfit on your own. It’s easy to spot a stretchable dress that is sold with a face cover at a majority of stores. If you’re bothered about letting your kid run wild with their head entirely enclosed in fabric, you can as well get mask-free clothes.

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman happens to be a new in fad star owing its fame to the hottest DVD sequence that did enormously well as well as its otherwise in style comic book series.

If you have a daughter who desires to be a superhero for Halloween but does not want to appear as a male character, Wonder Woman is a good choice. For the reason that the outfit is more or less light, handmade options are feasible. An old circlet from the attic, a rope from the market as well as some deftly (and possibly more conventionally placed) leggings make Wonder Woman a quick on the uptake and undemanding dress up target. Whatsoever your youngster decides they wish to clothe like this year, the chances are they’ll at least reflect on a superhero. All you have to do is set apart the most accepted crusaders this year and ease your child’s way out while helping him have a nice Halloween.

Halloween is coming up again, and like everyone else, I am thinking about what costumes I might want to get for the holiday this year. Halloween costumes are something I take pretty seriously, despite the fun nature of dressing up as someone (or something) else for a night. I know it’s supposed to be all fun and games, but I believe that the more effort you put into it, the more fun it will be for everyone.

Lately, I’ve been thinking more and more about period costumes from some point in human history. More specifically, I’m thinking about great’50’s costumes. If you are stuck with what to dress up as for Halloween, perhaps some of my ideas for’50’s costumes will do the trick (no Halloween pun intended).

First of all, when going for a period look like’50’s costumes, I try to be careful not to do what is too easy or expected. In fact, the appeal of’50’s costumes is that it is a little something different. For that reason, I try to avoid the most popular of’50’s costumes; the’50’s teenager look. Teenagers and pop culture or youth culture first emerged in the’50’s and the subsequent poodle shirts and the leather-jacket, gelled-haired greasers are the result. These costumes are classic and time-honored and, frankly, a good choice. But they are a little too easy in my book. Let’s dig deeper.

I like to think about the time period I’m working with and think about getting more specific. There were lots of people wearing poodle skirts and saddle shoes, but there was only one James Dean, for instance. Trying to model a specific celebrity or character is a great approach to’50’s costumes.

In that spirit, I like thinking about some of the celebrities, and not just Marilyn Monroe or Elvis Presley. For instance, why not take Audrey Hepburn’s iconic look in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”? That is easily understood and seldom seen in costume parties these days. Also, for whatever reason, James Dean is remembered as the’50’s heart-throb, but Marlon Brando was just as big. And if you can pull off dressing as one of the Rat Pack, you should win your costume party contests, as far as I’m concerned. Working on’50’s costumes that are a little different or unique is not as hard as it looks. And, as far as I’m concerned, the extra effort is worth the awesome and unique costume for this Halloween.

Many Americans hold a soft spot in the hearts for the’80’s. I was born in’84 and even though I was very young for the duration of the’80’s I seem to hold the same memories of the’80’s that older people do.

1980’s music, movies, TV shows and fashion seem to be what people reference when discussing the decade. Many songs, shows and movies from the’80’s are being remade because people feel nostalgic when experiencing the media.’80’s fashion is perhaps the most untouched area of pop culture that has been carried over, meaning that people dress in clothes that are not interpreted from the’80’s, but instead are actually from the’80’s. The piece of clothing that is perhaps most discussed then and now is the 80’s prom dress.

Since the’80’s had a thread of excess running through the decade, the prom dresses produced were considered very cool. “The bigger the better” was definitely the motto and since prom is the most formal event of a high school student’s experience, people spared no expense on an 80’s prom dress.

A typical 80’s prom dress was bright in color and some popular choices included: tangerine, teal, magenta and fuchsia. Many girls chose short dresses over long chiffon dresses from the’70’s. An 80’s prom dress needed to be bold and cosmopolitan and a great bright color helped pump up the energy.

Another fashion rule from the 80’s was that over-accessorizing was impossible. The attitude was the more styles going on in a single outfit, the better. This of course applied to prom dresses. The construction and shape the dress made on the body was very important. You had to have the biggest impact and sleek silhouettes were not in style. Some had ruching, or bunching up on the sides. Some were asymmetrical or had geometric cutouts or prints. Another well-known characteristic of an 80’s prom dress was over-sized shoulders and puffy sleeves.

An 80’s prom dress typically had a lot of detailed appliqus, sequins, bugle beads, netting and rhinestones. These dresses were pricey but well worth the effect. The dresses were accessorized with clutch purses, big jewelry, and metallic high heels and sometimes patterned tights. These days, an 80’s prom dress can be purchased from consignment or thrift shops. Many nightclubs have 80’s night and many parties are 80’s themed. Even though the 80’s prom dress is now worn as a joke, many others 80’s clothing is not.

With Halloween fast approaching, many people are beginning to think about their Halloween costumes, and for good reason. A Halloween costume is easy to overlook and many people end up trying to find some sort of costume at the last minute, and mostly what you will find in this situation is a big headache and maybe a costume that does not quite fit. That is why thinking a little ahead – even just two weeks – can be a big help. This year, I am thinking a lot about period costumes and specifically, about 80’s costumes.

80’s costumes make sense as a Halloween costume this year (or any year) for several reasons. First of all, we are still in the midst of a general retro 80’s period where throwbacks to the 80s are very much in style. Second, 80’s costumes are a great option because so many of the clothes and fashions from the’80’s look like they might costumes anyway; it takes only a little bit of imagination to bring it all the way to 80’s costume territory.

When I deal with period costumes, I like to think beyond the obvious. The way I do this is to come up with a list of 80’s celebrities. Celebrities are notorious for trying to follow the latest fashions, and looking back in time, you will see that the most 80’s looking people are celebrities. People like Madonna, Michael Jackson and Don Johnson epitomize in one way or another a definite 80’s look and are great ideas for 80’s costumes.

Excluding those three though, celebrities are sometimes difficult to turn into an 80’s costume. This is because, even though the celebrities are dressing at the height of fashion at the time, they still are just people dressed in clothes; many of them do not wear clothes that scream “costume”. For this reason, I like looking at specific characters the celebrities might have played in a movie. A great example of this is Tom Cruise in Top Gun. Dressing in a flight suit with “Maverick” on it is a great idea for 80’s costumes.

Whatever your approach to 80’s costumes might be, bring your own ideas and creativity to it to allow your costume idea to really pop at your Halloween costume party this year. Great 80’s costumes are always appreciated by those that like really clever and fun Halloween costumes.
