As of today, science has identified about 6,000 varying species of lady bugs which are found all over the world, they have been classified within the beetle family of insects and their differences include outward appearance as well as behavior. So, some while I have already mentioned some species of lady bugs which are friends of the farming community, others are dreaded enemies because they are plant eaters and thus consume and destroy crops.
Ladybugs’ vivid colors and vibrant spots are attractive to the human eye but they serve as protective characteristics that repel predators. “No accounting for good taste” I always say and it certainly applies here.
