I do believe that it is because Mr. Spock is so mysterious, so allusive, so stoic and so brilliant. Furthermore, we must not forget that Mr. Spock is part Vulcan which makes him in-human, extra-human, otherworldly. That, in my opinion, is awe inspiring in and of itself.
