It is also very common for adults to dress us as political figures on years when there is an election because Halloween is about one week before. During the 2008 election season, many people dressed up at Democratic presidential candidate Barrack Obama, Republican presidential candidate John McCain and vice-president Republican candidate Sarah Palin. This was because of the amount of attention the public had invested in all the coverage devoted to following these candidate’s every move. Because of Sarah Palin’s interesting background and story and because was introduced formally at the Republican national convention, many people had very strong opinions about her and decided to dress up like her for Halloween. Years before, during the scandal between President Clinton and Monica Lewinski, many people dressed up as them for Halloween.

Halloween is usually a time to laugh, dance and celebrate and many adult costume ideas reflect this. It is not a serious holiday and it is normally regarded as “anything goes”. Halloween costumes stores become extremely busy weeks before the holiday so make sure you pre-order or start shopping at the end of August. To save money, you can try renting costumes as well, but these get taken up quickly also.
