Halloween is quickly approaching and to get in the festive mood you have decided to throw a Halloween party for yourself, friends and family. This Halloween is sure to be remembered by everyone in attendance, but how to tackle such a feat laid at your feet?

First things first, invitations, but the normal store bought ones are unacceptable. Store bought invitations are a dime a dozen, but this year you’re going to be creative and design your own theme and invitations, which is all the rave for Halloween parties, and capture your party guests interest. You have to be unique from all the Halloween parties your friends host.

Also, you need to make sure you have a more mature decorations. Get rid of the normal and bland decorations that you might use for a party, it’s time to get creepy music, dark lighting with candles flickering in the darkness. You need to have a certain amount of style for your Halloween party, but keep in mind that it is still a holiday. Keep your guests guessing with various carved pumpkins with different designs, place objects around the room in a creative manner that will help get a ghastly rise from your guest. Spider webs and some Halloween themed streamers will work nicely as well. Be sure to include your spouse or significant other with your brainstorming process. He or she will likely have their own great ideas to creep out and thrill your guests. You can turn this great party into a great way to make a memorable moments for you and your special someone.

Halloween themed foods, you need to be creative and hopefully your guests will keep an open mind. Kitty litter cake is always a wonderful idea for a Halloween party, will they be grossed out or will they actually try it? Some other Halloween food suggestions include French fried eyeballs, gory hand, easy insects, dead fingers and eyeball sandwiches. Use a festive bowl, but be creative with your Halloween bowl and decorate it accordingly, but be sure to serve a red drink in the bowl or you may want to try a gruesome brew or vampire’s blood shakes.

There are an infinite amount of ideas that can go into a Halloween bash. But the thing people will be interested is how good the detail is. Do not be that subtle when doing so, but also do not go too over the top. This is the secret for planning a Halloween party. You can even find a fog machine and other great props to keep your gathering spooky. You can find these machines at various Halloween stores near you. Strobe lights and black lights also add a nice touch for a darker effect.
